About ScoreCardU

ScoreCardU is an independent reference site for US college cost, value and outcomes. We help students and families compare the real cost and value of US colleges — not just the published sticker price — using official, public-domain government data.

What we publish

For 167 major US colleges we show the average net price after aid, in- and out-of-state tuition, graduation rate, admission rate, median earnings 10 years after entry, and a transparent ROI signal (earnings versus net price). We add national rankings, by-state comparisons, and a net price & payback calculator.

Where our data comes from

Every figure is from the U.S. Dept. of Education College Scorecard, a public-domain dataset published by the U.S. Department of Education, captured as a dated snapshot (June 2026). We never invent numbers: if the Scorecard does not publish a value for a school, we omit it. See our methodology for the exact fields and formulas.

How to use it well

Treat our figures as a starting point for research, not a verdict. Net price depends heavily on your family income, and earnings reflect federally-aided students across all majors. Always confirm with each college's official net price calculator and the live College Scorecard before making a decision. This site is general information, not financial or admissions advice — see our disclaimer.
